With just 3-months to go to the Revival and 8-weeks to the final closing date for entry to the Bo’ness Classic it is good time for an update as to the current situation.
Club and Individual entries are now coming in at a steady rate so if you are considering entering the Classic please do not hold off for too long, as when the available spaces are filled the entry list shall be closed, even if that is prior to the noted closing date. We are on target to meet our maximum number of entrants, which is 400-cars in the Showfield on Sunday 3rd of September.
The Bo’ness Classic is a full weekend event, starting off on Saturday morning when the Bo’ness to Balmaha Road Run and Bo’ness Saltire Trophy depart from Bo’ness town centre from around 10.00. The Road Run is a gentle convoy type drive whereas the Saltire Trophy shall be an MSA sanctioned event, but without the requirement for a competition licence. The Trophy shall consist of a Road Book with Code Boards and other references to identify, Autotest type competitons and Regularity sections, it all promises to be an interesting concept with a wide range of competing cars spanning almost a century of motoring. Plans are well advanced for road closures in the town and when the expected 60 or so cars have departed there will be a Street Fayre event in the town centre. Due to Saturday being an active awayday there will not be as many cars on display in the Showfield at the Hillclimb track as there will be on Sunday, so please bear this in mind if you are specifically visiting the Classic on Saturday.
Sunday will be a busy day with the focus on the Arena which will see action by way of the ‘Carkhana’ competition, plus interviews and presentations all under the control of our knowledgeable MC’s. An interesting feature will be the final element of the Bo’ness Saltire Trophy, a Regularity drive up the Hillclimb track during the Hillclimb lunchbreak, which shall see some unlikely cars tackle the Bo’ness hill. There will be a wide array of cars on display on the various club stands, ranging from a Triumph TR3S which has competed at Le Mans on the TR Register stand, to the Jaguar Heritage Trust Jaguar XJ220 on the Jaguar Drivers Club Stand. Both the TR Register and Jaguar Drivers Club are involved with the Bo’ness Revival Classic in that they are sponsoring various activities and are hosting their Scottish national events under the umbrella of the Revival Classic. All of the trophies for the Bo’ness Revival Classic are generously being supplied by the TR Register and JDC and in addition both clubs are sponsoring their respective classes in the Revival Hillclimb..
The Bo’ness Revival is a truly unique event with the Bo’ness Hillclimb and the Bo’ness Classic running side by side and providing a range of interest for spectators and entrants alike.
If you would like to enter the Bo’ness Revival Classic, participate in the Bo’ness to Balmaha Road Run or enter the Bo’ness Saltire Trophy please contact Cliff McKinnon at cliff@bonesshillclimb.org.uk for any information and an entry form.

We are pleased to announce our new T-shirt design for the 2017 Season. The Bo’ness Hill Climb has now been in existence in its current form for 10 years and we decided a make over was well overdue. To incorporate the growing and successful Classic car show in the name we decided to change the brand and bring the hill climb and car show under one name.
As such we are very pleased with the new Bo’ness Revival logo and as such thought this year it should take pride of place on our T-shirts. We have expanded the range of sizes to include female and kids and placed it pride of place on a Black, Red and light Blue Cotton T-shirt. We hope you like it as much as we do.

We know some of you are keen to get your entry in for the Bo’ness Revival, however until the Track licence and permit is sent to us from the MSA, we are unable able to take entries,
As soon as these arrived we are good to go and entries will be made live.
While you are waiting for that, you may want to bag yourself a ticket for the BBQ which we will be organizing for the Saturday night. This is open to Hill Climb Drivers, crew and entrants to the classic car show. Numbers are limited to the size of the Gazebo [about 100] so they are being sold on a first come first served bases.
There will be good food,[ including a Hog roast], music and plenty of racing chat. All this for a very reasonable £10
Details regarding times etc will follow, but we expect to kick it off after the prize giving.
Tickets can be purchased from: here

Once again we will have a stand at the Stirling and District Classic Car Club Show on the 14th of May to help promote the Bo’ness Revival in the area. Our stand will have space for 4-cars and a gazebo so we are looking for a varied display of cars which compete at the Bo’ness Hillclimb and participate in the Bo’ness Classic.
If you would be willing to have your car on display please contact Cliff McKinnon at cliff@bonesshillclimb.org.uk and we can arrange details. The Stirling show is a major event attracting a large number of entrants and spectators and is an ideal opportunity to let people see what the Bo’ness Revival is all about, Bo’ness is not just a Hillclimb or a Show, it is a celebration of motoring history.

I have been contacted by Felix Sears, a Bo’ness member who has shared a painting that was recently done of him in his Speedex coming up the Bo’ness track last year. The painting was created from a photo taken on the day and I think has turned out very well. The Artist’s name is Andrew Kitson ( andrewkitson.com ) who specializes in Motor racing painting.
Thank you Felix, for sharing the painting.
